Our History

Denocos was established on October 9, 1957 to serve the employees of Del Norte Unified School and their immediate families. For 65 years, we have continued to limit our membership to this single common bond, adding only students who attend public school or community colleges in Del Norte County. Today, we serve over 650 members and offer auto, personal, boat and RV loans. By becoming a member, you not only enjoy our benefits, but enable us to provide a wider range of services, higher dividends, and lower loan rates to all members. Board of Directors

We governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, elected by the credit union’s membership. The directors lend their financial and managerial expertise to help guide the direction of the credit union and fulfill its mission of service to members.

Board members are responsible for setting policies, approving loans, and helping to direct strategic planning. They evaluate operations and maintain financial performance standards for the credit union. The Board of Directors implements and reviews the credit union’s policies and provides management oversight.
